In keeping with Upper Valley Medical Center’s (UVMC) commitment to providing the highest quality care in a healthy, safe environment, all UVMC buildings and grounds are tobacco and smoke free. We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for respecting our commitment to a healthy community.
Quitting Tobacco Products

Visiting Privileges at UVMC
Family members and friends are welcome to visit at Upper Valley Medical Center; however, patient care is our primary concern. In order to provide quality care, UVMC has established visiting regulations. We ask you to please follow the guidelines listed here. If you have special visitation circumstances, please notify a member of the care team.
All visitors are asked to please:
- Respect the patient's need to rest and keep visits within appropriate time frames
- Maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise
- Help prevent the spread of infection by washing hands frequently and following all other infection control policies
- Do not visit patients if you have a cold, sore throat or other contagious disease. (During flu season, visitation may be restricted)
- Cooperate if you are asked to leave the room during tests or treatments
General Visiting Privileges
General visiting hours are 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. However, each patient area has its own visiting policy with access to patients based on patient/family needs. Please check with the specific unit for the exact visiting policy for that area. Learn more about the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) visitor's guidelines.
After Hours
The primary public entrance is through the Main Lobby, which is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. All doors are locked to the outside at 10:00 p.m. except for the Emergency Department entrance. Women's Services has a specific entrance for Maternity patients, family, and visitors.
