The cornerstone of treatment for kidney failure is dialysis, a process that enables the body to use an artificial method of removing wastes from the bloodstream. We offer patients two kinds of dialysis: outpatient hemodialysis and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).
Our patients receive their hemodialysis treatments in a clinical environment that is cheerful and homelike. Once treatment begins, patients can relax in comfortable recliner chairs and read, watch TV, or listen to music.
The Dialysis Center, located on the UVMC Campus, is within easy distance for patients in Darke, Shelby, Montgomery, and Clark counties, as well as Miami County.

- Occupational Health: Area businesses and employees can benefit from the wide range of services offered including treatment and follow-up care for on-the-job-injuries, pre-placement physicals, drug screens, and wellness/health screenings. A building connected to the main center is a facility constructed specifically for the Work F.O.R.C.E. industrial rehabilitation program. This program is designed to help injured workers return to the job by providing therapy areas which simulate "work sites" similar to the injured person's regular work environment. The building also houses a therapeutic pool used for group and individual therapy.

Dr. Klamar is a board certified family physician. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his family practice residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He previously practiced in Urbana, Ohio, for six years.
